On April 18, 2008, His Holiness Pope
Benedict XVI visited the United Nations Headquarters in New
York, where he met with Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon
and the President of the General Assembly, Mr. Srgjan Kerim.
The Holy Father addressed the General Assembly and the Staff
of the United Nations.

Exactly one year prior to the Holy
Father's visit to the United Nations, on April 18, 2007,
Pope Benedict XVI had received UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban
Ki-moon who had invited him to the Organization's
Headquarters in New York.
