New York, NY, Oct. 18 – On Thursday 27 October from 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See, with co-sponsorship of The Path to Peace Foundation, will host a panel discussion on the newly-released book
in Conference Room 6 of the North Lawn Building at United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
The event will feature a presentation by the book’s co-editor, Dr. Mauro Galluccio of the European Association for Negotiation and Mediation, and discussion of the book by His Eminence Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and former Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations; H.E. Archbishop Francis Chulikatt, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, and Professor Elizabeth Defeis, Professor of Law at Seton Hall University School of Law.
The book is a collection of articles by global specialists in peace negotiation and conflict resolution which bring into focus the various psychological, social and political aspects of dispute resolution. The discussion will seek to address the various considerations which must be taken into account when working to resolve conflicts and how social and cultural factors influence peace negotiations.
